New Years Beach Training

Saturday - January 5th, 2008 - 11am ~ 1 pm

Finish off 2007 right and start off 2008 with good habits and good luck!

• Beach jogging
• 2008 punches
• Misogi - Puget sound swim and purification
• Campfire
• Hot tea and cookies

Wear your gi and running shoes, and bring a towel.

The Minakami Karate Dojo will close for the holidays during the periods:

• Sunday (12-23-07) thru Thursday (12-27-07)
• Sunday (12-30-07) thru Tuesday (1-01-08)

The dojo will be open the Friday and Saturday between those periods. The dojo will re-open in January on Wednesday (1-2-08).

Happy Holidays!

The annual dojo clean-up will be on Thursday, December 27th, from 5:30pm until finish (approx 2hrs).  All dojo members are invited to help.  If you have access to additional cleaning materials, please, feel obligated to bring them. Materials such as buckets, brooms, all purpose cleaner, etc are welcomed.

Chores include:

1. cleaning mirrors
2. cleaning floors
3. cleaning window glass
4. sanitizing floor mats
5. cleaning bathrooms
6. vacuuming
7. dusting counter tops and surfaces
8. collecting lost items and disposal
9. cleaning window blinds

The dojo will be closed on July 4th. Enjoy the fireworks!

Hower Sensei urges everyone to keep up on the practice of Kururunha. Learning the moves is the easy part, mastering the kata takes years of practice.

That being said, Seipai is the next kata in the seminar series.

Last night the MKD website redesign went live! There are a couple minor bugs, but I will be working them out shortly. My next project will be redesigning the theme for this blog to match the website. Stay tuned!
