Welcome to the Minakami Karate Website

The Minakami Karate was founded in 1985 by Shihan Akio Minakami. The dojo is located 15 minutes north of downtown Seattle, across the street from Oak Tree Cinema and Burgermaster. Minakami Karate is also the USA headquarters for Japan Karatedo Hayashi-Ha Shitoryu-Kai.

Shihan Akio Minakami is an internationally recognized authority on the history and techniques of traditional Japanese martial arts. Shihan Minakami is also president of Japan Karatedo Hayashi-Ha Shitoryu-Kai USA. Through his dojo, he is dedicated to teaching and preserving the philosophies and traditions of Karate.

At Minakami Karate we welcome all ages and abilities. Your first class is complimentary, and we look forward to introducing you to the challenges and rewards of Karate!

Observing a class:
If you are interested in joining our school, you are welcome to observe classes at any time.

Introductory classes:
We offer one free introductory class to both juniors and adults interested in taking karate classes. Introductory classes are scheduled by appointment. Please   contact    us to schedule a convenient time.

After receiving your complimentary class, you have the option of becoming a member, or you may participate in up to two more introductory classes at $10 per class.
